The incorporation of reinforcing components in the nickel metal matrix composites significantly improves the specific strength, microhardness, wear resistance, frictional behavior, creep, and fatigue characteristics, as well as provides exceptional surface quality in comparison to typical engineering materials. The current study attempted to explore a review on nickel composites reinforced with various solid lubricants, along with their pros and cons. The study focuses on the issues like interfacial transition, agglomerating activity, and non-uniform particle dispersion. Several studies have been conducted to highlight the effect of solid lubricants on the microstructure, mechanical and tribological characteristics such as tensile strength, yield strength, ductility, hardness, friction, wear, and fatigue. In this review, the principal applications of various nickel matrix composites are also thoroughly examined." @default.
