- W4385187718 abstract "The paper takes the complement ‘Dao’ in modern Chinese as the research object, exploring the types of aspect meaning of ‘Dao’ in the range of the multi-level aspect system of modern Chinese, each of which has been compared and analyzed. In the paper, the research starts from the situation of ‘v.Dao’, concluding that the structure of ‘v.Dao’ can be divided into two kinds of situation types: accomplishment and achievement. The ‘Dao1’ which constitutes the situation of accomplishment has a certain effect on highlighting the ending stage of the event based on the objective situation, which belongs to the phase mark of the event which expresses the event that is at the end point. The ‘Dao2’ which constitutes the situation of achievement is more concerned with the relevant stage of the behavior due to its close semantic connection with v, which is a phase mark of verb that highlights the stage of the result. Some of the ‘v.Dao2’ have been lexicalized , and ‘Dao2’ belongs to the morpheme marking the result aktionsart. The focality of ‘Dao2’ is lower than that of ‘Dao1’, and its subjectivity is higher than that of ‘Dao1’. The ‘Dao2’ is more like the traditional aspect mark in the system of aspect, and has the possibility to continue to evolve towards the viewpoint aspect, the beginning phase, and the process phase. Generally speaking, ‘Dao’ is in the intermediate transition stage of system of aspect. The aspect meaning of ‘Dao’ can be divided into three categories: the phase mark of the event at the end point, the lexicalized aktionsart’s morpheme and the result phase mark of behavior. Accordingly, the paper has drawn up a diagram of the evolution of ‘Dao’ from the level of objective situation aspect to the level of subjective viewpoint aspect." @default.
