If the maintenance personnel can find out the place where the fault occurs in the distribution network in a short time, and repair the problem and restore the power supply in time, the loss caused by the fault can be reduced and the power safety of users can be guaranteed. Therefore, accurate and reliable fault location technology of distribution network is great significance to shorten the time of fault finding, accelerate fault recovery and improve the reliability of power supply. This paper proposes a fault section location method for distribution network based on voltage amplitude clustering. This method uses the change rule of three-phase voltage amplitude before and after the fault, identifies the monitoring point sets at different locations from the fault in the voltage monitoring set through the improved nearest neighbor clustering method, and then judges the fault section based on the line topology and fault path. This method does not need the monitoring data of medium and high voltage lines, and only needs the voltage amplitude change information of low voltage side of distribution network transformer, which is easy to monitor. Finally, the effectiveness of this method under different fault types is verified by IEEE 34 node simulation." @default.
