- W4385354761 abstract "Ionic liquids (ILs) were identified to have a unique role in the pharmaceutical industry. ILs are defined as substances that almost entirely contain ions with a freezing point. A handful of these substances have drawn significant attention as pure, multipurpose solvents for a wide range of purposes. Ionic liquids exhibit a wide spectrum of chemical characteristics, as well as their potential for toxicity. Understanding of the components transmitting their cytotoxicity and biological effects are still noticeably lacking. The thorough biophysical investigation of membrane contacts depicts ionic liquids, showing various side chains, cationic head groups, and also demonstrates variations in their binding to bilayers and impacts on lipid accumulation. As the ILs under investigation show varying levels of biological activities and cytotoxicity, we shed more light on membrane interactions in this article as a potential significant factor underlying the biological differences in between compounds and provided a detailed analysis of the interactions of membrane with numerous Ionic liquids demonstrating different biological and structural properties. The impacts on lipid bilayers were also discussed in this research, and it was concluded that there was a connection between both the extent of membrane permeability or disruption and the biological roles of the ionic liquids." @default.
