- W4385365844 abstract "This book developed, created the methods to study, and presented the results in support of the retribution and reciprocity model (RRM). In this chapter, I situate the knowledge from the data presented in the previous chapters and summarise the lessons learned as well as the directions for the future of RRM. We found that the methods that were designed and tested by this theory are useful and fit for purpose, which means that they can be taken further to explore other crime types and cultural backgrounds. Therefore, RRM presents one of the first attempts to create an evolutionary criminological theory of crime. This book is not the only attempt to explore what neuroscience or evolutionary psychology has to add to the conversation of crime causation. Nevertheless, it is an ambitious attempt to bring together evidence from evolutionary science and neuroscience, adapt the methods from behavioural economics to study that evidence, and then to adapt it all to the study of criminology. Moreover, I theorise that RRM could go beyond that, and be able to explain rule making as well as rule enforcement. Crime is a multifaceted and complex behaviour, and as such it requires a multidisciplinary approach, and it is refreshing to see that in the end a model such as RRM led to expanding our understanding of what motivated people to commit a crime." @default.
