- W4385569069 abstract "Diabetes and its related complications have become a threat to global health, and cause million of deaths resulting in an additional economic burden worldwide. To cure diabetes, we should monitor glucose levels, which are a simple form of polysaccharides, at definite intervals. Polysaccharides are vital to all living beings and so this concept immediately attracts carbohydrate-based conjugates that act on a particular target to control glucose levels. The carbohydrate-based antidiabetic natural compounds can be termed antidiabetic glucosidase inhibitors, which depend on the basis of their mode of action. The scientific community has done a lot of research from natural sources based on carbohydrates and this has opened a new window on antidiabetic therapy. Plants have always been a very rich source of drugs and many of the currently available drugs are derived directly or indirectly from plants. In this chapter, carbohydrate-based antidiabetic agents, especially from natural sources, are explained." @default.
