- W4385585931 abstract "Health information is a very important as of our world today. There are so many reasons why people use and or need health information around the world. It could be to gather information on health issues such as disease, vaccines, and therapies but also to learn more about what is going on around and stay up to date regarding their health and wellbeing. Apart from obtaining the right information, frequent use and dependence on social media has seen the growth of misinformation which has negatively affected health outcomes in various ways. Making informed decisions is one of the crucial factors in good health and wellbeing, clinical research as well as public health; having the right information is therefore crucial. With infectious disease, this can make huge difference in preparedness, response, and disease outcomes. Low-and- middle income countries are lagging in technological advancements and are often equipped with little information and or misinformed in one way or the other. How can the public benefit from information on health and research outcomes? Apart from research papers and publication, how can the scientific community make use of social media and other media platforms to inform the Governments and the public to combat misinformation? Is there another way to reach populations that do not have access to clinical and scientific research?" @default.
