- W4385608593 abstract "The dolomite reservoir of the Lower Permian Qixia Formation in Northwest Sichuan Basin, China is characterized by deep burial and thin thickness, which shows very weak or no seismic response in the conventional seismic data. This results in stimulated difficulties in subsequent seismic identification of such dolomite reservoirs. Given this, this research develops a processing method to effectively improve the seismic resolution of thin dolomite reservoirs and strengthen their seismic response. Specifically, the original frequency bandwidth of seismic data is first broadened via the bi-directional expansion prediction algorithm (toward both high and low frequencies). Second, the triangular filtering algorithm is used to enhance the amplitude spectrum energy of each frequency component within the broadened frequency bandwidth, so as to compensate the bandwidth narrowing and shifting toward lower frequencies, with the extended propagation path, restore high-frequency loss, enhance the energy of the high-frequency amplitude spectrum, and obtain a bluer spectrum. Ultimately, the original seismic frequency bandwidth is expanded gradually via multiple iterations and the seismic resolution is correspondingly enhanced. The case study of field applications demonstrates that the seismic resolution of the dolomite thin reservoir is improved and the enhanced seismic response of such thin reservoirs is effective for interpretation. The resultant good application performance indicates that the presented method is accurate and effective; it can improve the resolution of seismic data and provide basic technical support to petroleum exploration and development." @default.
