- W4385608832 abstract "Carbonate rock of Tarim basin in western China is rich in petroleum resources, most of the target formation is buried as superdeep as 6500 m, and characterized by fracture and cavity reservoirs, and high heterogeneity. Limited by the depth of investigation of conventional logging and the resolution of seismic data, it is difficult to detect and identify the hidden reservoir near the borehole. Deep shear wave imaging takes advantage of the reflected signal form formation which is excited by a dipole source, after the signal processing method such as direct wave suppression, up-down wave separation and wavelet compression, the signals form reflectors are obtained. Then immigration processing is applied to the SH signals of certain azimuth, which are derived from reflection signals based on the nature feature of cross dipole. The imaging has the features of deeper depth of investigation and azimuth sensibility, which makes it possible to see the hidden reservoir 30 m away from the borehole. This paper adopt deep shear wave imaging to cross diploe data, by making slice image every 10° around the borehole, the fractures and cavities are clearly imaged, and the relative azimuth to the borehole is confirmed. The study of this paper set up a typical template for fracture evaluation near borehole, which is able to finely evaluate the fracture and cavity reservoir around borehole. Field application shows, the deep shear wave imaging is useful reference data to help to make acid-fracturing testing plans, as well as micro side drilling in the wells to be abandoned." @default.
