- W4385612803 abstract "Introduction The literature highlights the importance of training the basic life support, also in the occupational context, since although most organizations are not prepared, an average of 10,000 cardiorespiratory arrests occur per year in the workplace. From here emerges the need for companies to empower workers to respond quickly and effectively, at least until the arrival of differentiated help. Objectives Identify the strategies and programmes that, in an occupational context, enable workers to intervene in the face of a cardiorespiratory arrest. Methodology Systematic review of the literature according to the methodology of the Joanna Briggs Institute. As inclusion criteria, we defined studies available in full and free text, published from 2002 in Portuguese, English and German. The research was carried out during the month of November 2022 through the EbscoHost using the databases Cinahl with Full Text, Medline with Full Text, MedicLatina, Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. The research equation was used: (programs or interventions or strategies or education) AND (workplace or work environment or work spaces or office or job) AND (basic life support or cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR) AND (occupational health and safety) NOT (healthcare or health care or hospital or health services or health facilities). Results Ten articles identified strategies and programs that enable workers to act in a cardiac arrest. The results attest to the importance of simulation, including using virtual and augmented reality, demonstration, role-playing, gamification, the use of mobile applications due to their accessibility and ease of use, theoretical face-to-face sessions and practices in groups and individuals with trained instructors ensuring feedback, offering a kit of materials with instructions and also involving community resources and all hierarchical levels of the companies. Options such as dissemination of statistical data, testimony from occupational health professionals and survivors can be useful as awareness-raisers. Conclusion It reinforces the need to implement training programs and strategies for workers that are effective and allow for improved outcomes in the event of cardiorespiratory arrests. It is believed that organizations that are committed to promoting a safe environment and empowering their workers, assuming this social responsibility, can have positive impacts for all stakeholders, for the company itself and for society in general, as they contribute to the resource management.
