- W4385996723 abstract "Chitin is quite possibly one of the most abundant sustainable biopolymers on earth that can be acquired from marine sources as a modest inexhaustible biopolymer. It is biocompatible, biodegradable, and bioabsorbable, with antibacterial and wound-healing properties as well as minimal immunogenicity; as a result, various studies on its biomedical uses have been published. Chitin is a hard, clear polysaccharide that is one of the fundamental constituents of shells of crustaceans like crabs, lobsters, shrimps, and numerous other subterranean scarabs. It is additionally found in the cell walls of microorganisms like yeast, molds, and algae. A French educator of natural history Henri Braconnot found chitin in 1811 and named it fungine. In 1823, Odier tracked down similar material in bugs and plants and named it chitin. Chitin has been used for a wide range of applications such as food innovation, material science, microbiology, horticulture, wastewater treatment, drug conveyance frameworks, tissue designing, bionanotechnology, etc. In this book chapter, we have zeroed in on the source of chitin, its design, biosynthesis, chitinolytic enzymes, the limiting proteins, a short discussion about the traditional process to produce chitin and the numerous applications spinning around it." @default.
