Further, the marked improvements in drone technology in the last few decades have ensured that the drone can be successfully put into practice in the field of agriculture. The design of a UAV is the most important element which determines how a UAV will phase-in in its general practice. The mechanical and electronic facets that comprise a drone must ensure synchronous working so that the final design delivers a stable flight. This paper not only describes the various use-case scenarios of drones in the field of agriculture but also details the design of a hexacopter with a spraying mechanism, specifically meant to ease agricultural work. Additionally, it encompasses the layout of various design steps that are required to build such a hexacopter. Also, a custom spraying mechanism that sits at the heart of this hexacopter is comprehensively discussed in this paper. The hexacopter design presented has a payload-carrying capacity of 1 L and a maximum flight time of 10–15 min. Apart from this, the various shortcomings and challenges have also been duly addressed to give a wider perspective to not only the readers but also to the researchers working on future drones." @default.
