- W4386005203 abstract "The paper covers the concept of computer games, as a means of entertainment, a new way of learning, but also as a tool capable of turning fun into a serious addiction that can significantly affect the development and quality of child's life. This research compares the views of parents and children of primary and secondary school age towards computer games and their impact on students. For the purposes of this research, two surveys were created and conducted in one primary and two secondary schools. Survey questionnaires consist of 24 questions. The first is aimed at children of primary and secondary school age in order to establish their habits, influences, feelings, problems and positive and negative sides of playing computer games. The second survey questionnaire is aimed at parents whose child attends primary or secondary school, and the research examines the habits, influences, feelings, problems and positive and negative aspects of playing computer games. Finally, all data will be expressed in percentages and the results of primary and high school children will be compared, the total data obtained by the children will be compared with the results obtained by the parents. It was concluded that computer games have an impact on children of primary school age as well as high school age. This impact is, in some cases, extremely positive because through playing, children learn new languages, improve visual perception and control their emotions more easily. While in some cases the impact is negative because children use games as an escape from reality, distance from family and friends and cause of negative emotions. It has been observed that most parents allow their children to play computer games, sometimes with time limits. But there are also parents who ignore the fact that their child is bordering on computer game addiction so that they themselves have more time for themselves or “peace at home”." @default.
