- W4386036504 abstract "There is a growing interest by policy makers and analysts in the discourse on green economy. In Africa, which as a region has contributed the least to climate change, but suffers the most, the interest is both timely and significant. Green economy policies and green growth require changes in other sectors of the society. This chapter examines the role of green economic policies in Africa, by reviewing the state of several areas of the society such as agriculture, transportation, and natural resources. The study shows that while many countries are eager to establish green policies, that is not sufficient. This is because green policies can only be sustainable when anchored in other parts of society. In other words, it is important for African countries to engage with green policies by drawing on relevant lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic." @default.
