- W4386064842 abstract "OBJECTIVE This research develops a tailored psychosocial and supportive cancer care module for therapy radiographers in Malaysia, seeking expert evaluations and feedback to ensure accuracy and consistency. The absence of standardized training modules creates challenges in meeting cancer patients' needs during radiotherapy treatment. The newly developed module addresses psychosocial and supportive needs and is specifically designed for therapy radiographers in Malaysia. MATERIALS AND METHOD The development process of the module uses a systematic approach, starting with a comprehensive literature review of reputable sources to identify gaps and areas for improvement in current psychosocial and supportive care practices for therapy radiographers in Malaysia. Experts from multiple disciplines, including therapy radiographers, oncologists, psychologists, and social workers, will provide feedback on the module's content and structure to ensure its relevance and effectiveness. RESULT The psychosocial and supportive care module for therapy radiographers is valid and reliable to use and strives to effectively address cancer patients' psychosocial and supportive needs within the Malaysian healthcare setting. CONCLUSION A psychosocial and supportive cancer care module was developed for therapy radiographers in Malaysia, which identified gaps in current practices. A multidisciplinary panel of experts, including therapy radiographers, oncologists, psychologists, and social workers, collaborated to ensure the module's relevance and effectiveness in addressing cancer patients' psychosocial and supportive needs. Pilot testing provided feedback on feasibility and acceptability. This research improves cancer care by bridging the gap in psychosocial and supportive training for therapy radiographers in Malaysia. It provides a foundation for future advancements in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care to improve cancer patients' quality of life and well-being.
