- W4386226852 abstract "Cu(II) and Rhodamine B (RhB) were the typical contaminants in dyeing wastewater. This study synthesized zero-valent iron with (1 1 0) crystal decorated ZSM-5 (Fe0(1 1 0) @ZSM-5) to simultaneously removal Cu(II) and RhB, and explored the role of Cu(II) and Fe0 in RhB removal. The structure of Fe0(1 1 0) @ZSM-5 was further characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, and RhB removal was investigated by batch experiment. The maximum RhB removal of 99.1% was attained at Fe0(1 1 0) @ZSM-5/H2O2/Cu(II) system, and Cu(II) played an important role. For Cu(II) concentration < 5 mg/L, uptake Cu(II) accelerating the electron transfer between Fe0 and Fe2+, and between Fe3+ and Fe2+. For Cu(II) concentration > 5 mg/L, the electron transfer was inhibited since the passivation layer of copper (hydro)oxides at Fe0(1 1 0)@ZSM-5 surface. Furthermore, adsorption (39%) and advanced oxidation (60.1%) were all involved in RhB removal. The maximum Cu(II) adsorption capacity was 132.31 mg/g, greater than many previously reported adsorbents." @default.
