- W4386248860 abstract "We investigate the possibility to realize the method of dissipative soliton generation based on the effects of monochromatic wave transformation into frequency comb in microwave electronics. This effect takes place in systems where self-compressing nonlinear medium and dispersion are present. When such media is placed in high quality resonator and pumped by external monochromatic wave the stable dissipative structure – soliton arises in this system. To realize this method in microwave frequency range we suggest system where electron beam under undulator resonance condition interacts with external pump in high-Q resonator. When parameters of the electron beam correspond to exact wave-beam resonance the beam exhibits feature of a pure reactive nonlinear medium. At the same time the required dispersion sign is ensured by the type of the chosen waveguide, which can be regular or corrugated one. Simulations show that in considered system modulation instability takes place which resulted in formation of stable dissipative structures including comb solitons." @default.
