- W4386401070 abstract "Many plant and animal species have undergone extensive domestication as a result of ongoing agricultural intensification and extensive human sociocultural and economic development in a bid to improve global food production and security. However, the rise in consumption rate brought on by global population growth presents a constant and growing challenge. Therefore, many scientific and cutting-edge avenues are being explored to increase agricultural output and assured food security for everyone, especially in developing and underdeveloped parts of the world. These include the use of chemicals such as a broad class of pesticides - herbicides for weed and insect pest control as well as for greater yields and fertiliser applications for better crops and animal production. However, as the usage of these chemicals increased, so did their detrimental effects on soil microorganisms, above-ground flora, and other connected natural resources, and the quality of environmental matrices like soil, water, and air pollution. The types and classifications of agrochemicals, especially herbicides and fertilisers used in developing and underdeveloped countries exacerbate the effects, and impacts on soil microbes and vegetation. This chapter focuses on the issues related to the current realities of chemical application for agricultural productivity on above-ground flora and soil microorganisms and discusses potential sustainable management approaches." @default.
