- W4386414543 abstract "This work outlines Battery connected Multilevel inverter fed PMSM Electric Vehicle topology. Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) has many advantages like high speed, high efficiency and less torque ripple. Field Oriented Control (FOC) is one of the popular method in controlling the speed of PMSM. The Battery is used at the 100% initial state of charge and Using SPWM switching technology, a five-level cascaded H-bridge type multi-level inverter is provided to the PMSM. The THD is unusually high for a traditional two-level inverter, which will affect the drive's performance. A multi-level inverter offers a greater variety of output voltage levels with a lower total harmonic distortion (THD), which significantly enhances the performance of the motor. The FOC method is used to control the PMSM's speed. The main advantage of using a vector control method like FOC is that the stator and rotor flux are decoupled in order to achieve independent control of both the fluxes. Inverter can control the phase, magnitude and frequency of motor based on the reference signals that are getting from speed control algorithm. By controlling the magnitude, frequency and phase of stator current, speed of the motor is controlled." @default.
