However, due to the problems faced by Zn anodes, such as dendrites and parasitic reactions (hydrogen evolution reaction and corrosion), commercialization still has a long way to go. In this perspective, a discussion of Zn anodes' current challenges is presented. Starting from this overview Zn anode modification strategies are discussed, which include surface modification, structure optimization, and electrolyte modification.
