Narcotics abuse is not only found among the community but also among police officers, this problem must be addressed, police as law enforcers must avoid the dangers of narcotics so that police professionalism as one of the institutions in the criminal enforcement system can be maintained properly. So that the police can work optimally in carrying out law enforcement. The purpose of this research is to find out the factors that cause police officers to commit narcotics crimes, and to find out the efforts to overcome narcotics crimes committed by police officers. The method in this research is empirical law, namely field research or what is commonly referred to as empirical research by examining the provisions of the law that apply and have occurred in community life, or in other words, a study conducted on the actual situation or the real situation that has occurred in society. The data analysis used is qualitative data analysis. The results showed that, the factors that caused the occurrence of narcotics abuse among the police were internal and external so that the police officers committed narcotics abuse crimes. Then the prevention and control measures are preventive efforts, namely by conducting periodic checks, counseling and enforcing the professional code of ethics, which can be a step to prevent narcotics abuse.&#x0D; Keywords: Criminology, Narcotics, Police.&#x0D; ABSTRAK- Kasus penyalahgunaan narkotika di Indonesia semakin hari semakin mengkhawatirkan, hal ini terbukti dengan peningkatan jumlah penyalahgunaan narkotika di kalangan masyarakat. Penyalahgunaan narkotika tidak hanya ditemukan dikalangan masyarakat tetapi juga dikalangan aparat kepolisian, permasalahan ini harus di tanggulangi, polisi sebagai penegak hukum harus terhindar dari bahaya narkotika agar profesionalisme polisi sebagai salah satu institusi dalam sistem penegakan pidana dapat terjaga dengan baik. Sehingga polisi dapat bekerja secara optimal dalam melakukan penegakan hukum. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor&#x0D; &#x0D; penyebab oknum kepolisian melakukan tindak pidana narkotika, dan untuk mengetahui upaya penanggulangan tindak pidana narkotika yang dilakukan oknum kepolisian. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah hukum empiris yaitu penelitian lapangan atau yang biasa disebut dengan penelitian empiris ini dengan mengkaji ketentuan hukum yang berlaku serta telah terjadi didalam kehidupan masyarakat,atau dengan kata lain suatu penelitian yang dilakukan terhadap keadaan sebenarnya atau keadaan nyata yang telah terjadi di masyarakat. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya penyalahgunaan narkotika dikalangan kepolisian adalah internal dan eksternal sehingga oknum kepolisian tersebut melakukan kejahatan penyalahgunaan narkotika. Lalu langkah pencegahan dan penanggulangannya adalah dengan upaya preventif yaitu dengan melakukan pengecekan secara berkala, penyuluhan dan penegakan kode etik profesi, yang dimana langkah tersebut bisa menjadi langkah untuk upaya pencegahan penyalahgunaan narkotika.&#x0D; Kata kunci : Kriminologi, Narkotika, Kepolisian." @default.
