- W4386656184 abstract "Azo dyes are the aromatic compounds with –N=N– groups. These are synthetic organic colorants being used in different industries such as textiles and pharmaceuticals. The biotransformants of these compounds can turn into carcinogenic products and also these dyes show recalcitrant behavior toward the environment, as their release into the environment augments the pollution volume. Hence various actions are required to completely demolish these dyes. The primary step for degradation is the reductive cleavage of the chromophore group. Physiochemical methods being approached out are very expensive and also form the toxic secondary sludge for disposal, thus some of the other techniques or actions are being brought forward to get control over the issue. One such technique is degradation and decolorization by the means of enzymes. Several enzymes tied down for the purpose are azo reductases, laccases, peroxidases, ligninolytic enzymes, and many other important enzymes. Such enzymes are rational, cost-cutting, easily mobilizable, and reflect ease in the down streaming processes. The main exertion of these enzymes is to precipitate out the aromatic ring structure present in the dye." @default.
