- W4386748544 abstract "Currently, global warming is the main issue on environmental concern due to the higher amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. The current technology to remove CO2 effectively is carbon capture and storage or CCS,?especially absorption with aqueous amine solutions. The commonly used amine solutions are monoethanolamine (MEA). They have some disadvantages like low capacity. Therefore, a new solvent such as 3-amino-1-propanol (3A1P), 3-dimethylamino-1-proapnol (3DMA1P) and 1-dimethylamino-2-proapnol (1DMA2P) have been designed to be used as alternative solvents for CO2 removal. In this work, the solubility of carbon dioxide in? new promising solvents. The effect of solvent?concentration is studied and varied in range of 3, 4 and 5 molars. The effect of carbon dioxide is examined by varying carbon dioxide partial pressure in a range of 5-100 kPa and? temperature from 30?C to 80?C. Furthermore, 3DMA1P could provide the greater average cyclic capacity than that of MEA by 279 % and the greater average cyclic capacity than 3A1P by 21%. Time dependence of solvent performance in CO2 absorption is time dependent. The rates of CO2 loading change versus time are very high at the beginning of the reaction until into a state of equilibrium. At higher partial pressure, the rate of loading change can increase because of higher driving force, leading to higher rate of reaction. Later, the rate becomes?relatively stable until it reached equilibrium." @default.
