- W4386891470 abstract "Technological developments in material strength and earthquake-resistant reinforced concrete design still need to be implemented in areas with economic growth at the national average or below. The areas have a highly typical building design with a low to moderate category and will inevitably apply code requirements in line with the technology acceleration. Thus, it is necessary to provide a transition scheme of structure with normal to high-strength materials regarding their effectivity in construction, especially for middle-low rise buildings. This research examines earthquake design variables, i.e., response modification factor (R) and base shear design of some typical stories. We analyzed the structure with mixed concrete and steel reinforcement grades to 4-,6-,8-, and 10-story done in Midas Gen with pushover analysis. The data from the result analysis was then scrutinized to capture the structural performance. The analysis of the transition scheme of structure from normal to high-strength materials shows an increase in the strength of the structure to withstand shear forces. The structure ductility and drift differences for each approach scheme differ from the differences in the R-value representing structure ductility. Normal concrete and high-strength steel deliver better performance than other combinations. Normal Concrete-High Strength Steel's transition scheme demonstrates an adequate structure performance." @default.
