- W4387039786 abstract "The nonlinear optical properties of copper oxide nanoparticles prepared using aqueous extracts of Bougainvillea leaves were studied. The Bougainvillea extracts were used as reducing and capping agents to synthesize the nanoparticles. The particles showed monoclinic crystalline structure with an average particle size of 70 nm. Stabilization in the fabrication process was established by the phenolic groups and amines in the plant extracts. Absorbance peak of the nanoparticles was found at 280 nm. This peak is related to surface plasmon resonance associated with the collective electronic oscillations in the conduction band of the synthesized particles. Enhancements in the nonlinear refractive index (10−7 cm2/W) exhibited by the nanoparticles are related to the conduction band electrons thermalization." @default.
