- W4387146363 abstract "There is currently a great deal of interest in drug delivery research in order to successfully deploy drug molecules and therapeutic agents to their intended locations for the treatment of various ailments. Various drug delivery methods have been used in the medical system to treat various diseases such as transdermal, pulmonary, oral, buccal, nasal, sublingual, etc. However, there are still several issues that need to be investigated in order to successfully deliver medications to a precise area. In order to improve treatment efficacy and minimize the toxicity linked to a small therapeutic index and high dose, it is crucial to target medications to a specific location using improved drug delivery methods like targeted drug delivery mechanisms. There are several strategies like passive targeting, active targeting, and physical targeting in targeted drug delivery. For the purposes of delivering drugs, a great deal of research has been done on nano-systems with various biological characteristics and compositions. Nanotechnology has been shown to bridge the gap between biological and physical sciences. By using nanostructures like liposomes, dendrimers, polymeric nanostructures and more recently the hybrid nanomaterial and biomimetic nanomaterial and nanophases in a variety of scientific domains, particularly in nanomedicine and nano-based drug delivery systems, where such particles are of importance. Understanding the interactions of nanomaterials with the biological environment, drug release, multiple drug administration, stability of therapeutic agents, and molecular mechanisms of cell signaling involved in the pathobiology of the disease under consideration are crucial for effective drug delivery. This book review includes the different kinds of nanomaterials used in drug delivery mechanisms. The chapter also emphasizes on the application of the nanostructures in treating diseases like, cancer, HIV, etc." @default.
