- W4387172471 abstract "In nature, fungi are widely distributed. Low-molecular-mass compounds known as secondary metabolites (SMs) play a number of physiological roles in fungi, including those related to pathogenicity, pathogenesis, and communication. A huge number (over 100,000) of specialized colors, antibiotics, vitamins, antioxidants, polysaccharides, industrial enzymes, and amino acids that are not necessary for fungi survival but those can be produced by fungi, especially higher fungal (ascomycetes and basidiomycetes) species. Additionally, a number of these compounds are currently utilized in medicine as immunomodulators, lipid-lowering drugs, and antibiotics. According to recent studies, each fungus's secondary metabolite species and concentration change significantly depending on the environment. The research of fungi's growth and development, control of infections, defense against abiotic and biotic stress, and provision of precursors for the development of novel medications are all made possible by these characteristics." @default.
