- W4387203699 abstract "Nanomaterials have recently gained popularity in the areas of biotechnology, healthcare, horticulture, pharma sectors, etc., due to their nanoscale dimensions and wide range of applicability along with usage. The synthesis of nanoparticles can be obtained by physical, chemical and biological approaches. However, the chemical and physical procedures have a number of limitations that can be mitigated by producing nanoparticles utilizing biological technologies and live organisms. Furthermore, the use of microorganisms and plants as nanofactories for biogenic synthesis has provided a staunch, sustainable, nontoxic, and environmentally acceptable method for nanoparticle synthesis by acting as reducing agents. Metals are known to be transported by plants, bacteria, fungi, algae, virus, yeast and human cells and convert them to elemental nanoforms that are either stored or released by them. These inorganic nanoparticles are having well-defined chemical composition, shape or morphology, size, and nature, which make them more suitable than their other counterparts and because of this their applicability in a wide range of cutting-edge technical sectors has been investigated. This chapter mainly emphasizes on biomanufacturing of nanomaterials, its mechanism and potential to be explored as “eco-friendly” option." @default.
