• W4387303016 abstract "How Risk-driven Asset Management Re-prioritized Omaha's Flood Protection and Wastewater Lift Station StrategiesAbstractThe City of Omaha (City) conducted a Capacity Management Operations and Maintenance (CMOM) Gap Analysis for the wastewater collection system as a preliminary step toward riskbased asset management. The City identified CMOM gaps, prioritized gap closure efforts, and is implementing recommended improvements. A high priority area identified for improvement was tracking lift station assets, identifying asset condition, and prioritizing O&M activities. At the same time, the City was also preparing for the annual inspection of the flood control system by the USACE. Discussions with the City brought to light the need to prioritize the flood protection system asset management over the wastewater system in the short term. In addition to interior drainage flooding, one of the key risks of the flood protection system not operating well is negative impacts to the ability of wastewater system to operate well. The City re-prioritized to address these higher risk assets.
