Abstract: The International Congress of Psychoanalysis in Budapest, in 1918, signaled changes aimed at meeting the demands of patients who could not pay for the costs of care (DANTO, 2005). It is understood that this proposal has started the process of building the Social Clinics as they currently exist. This and other movements in Psychoanalysis are seen as the result of tensions to be analyzed from a dialectical perspective, as a way of seeking to consider the contradictions inherent to them. Its political implications are highlighted, as well as its derivations inclined to body psychotherapies, since clinics are perceived as spaces of social power (FOUCAULT, 1979). The Social Clinics are understood as generators of their own tools and languages (BROIDE, 2006) and considered for the purposes of this study as a manifest phenomenon of this historical thread. Therefore, the essential objective of this study is to analyze aspects inherent to the practices of public clinics, perceiving them as derived from Freudian public clinics. It is believed that this type of reflection constitutes, according to the perspective of Broide (2005), as an important aid for understanding, rescuing and appropriating historical paths, proposing to sustain differences and otherness through psi knowledge as a support for encounters and different ways of being in the world Keywords: Social Clinic; Psychoanalysis; body psychotherapies." @default.
