- W4387445148 abstract "The active development of public transport in large cities, as an intelligent transport development (ITD) measure, is effective to reduce the number of personal vehicles on highways, which increases population mobility, reduces traffic congestion, and improves the air condition in the urban environment. Signal-controlled intersections form hot concentration points of vehicles and traffic-related harmful emissions. Designated lanes are actively used on highways to ensure the priority movement of passenger transport in cities. However, their effect is leveled by the standing time at intersections, since traffic light cycle setting is focused on the movement of cars, taking into account their dynamic dimensions. Our study focused on modeling the speed mode of buses on the road network section from the stop to the traffic light (space interval), taking into account the location of the stop and passenger traffic. The authors established that the number of passengers and the location of the stop have the maximum impact on the time the bus reaches the stop line. The obtained real-time data on the beginning of movement and the number of passengers allow setting the average speed within the space interval in the problem of approaching the intersection at the go traffic light signal. Modeling the bus speed in space intervals allows increasing the travel speed on the route (by 3–5%) and reducing fuel consumption and atmospheric emissions by reducing the number of stops at intersections." @default.
