- W4387485890 abstract "Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse width modulation (SHEPWM) scheme is a fundamental switching frequency based scheme which is used for the control of multilevel inverter in order to avoid the switching losses as well as to control a large number of harmonics for improving the THD performance of the multilevel inverter. However, the distribution of the switching angles per level of the multilevel inverter plays a crucial role in determining the performance of the inverter in terms of THD and existence of the solution for a range of modulation indices. In this paper, the effect of switching angle distribution per level of the MLI has been studied and it has been found that the switching angle distribution very much affects the harmonic performance of the multilevel inverter. The SHEPWM problem is formulated for a 7-level MLI with 13 switching angles to control. The quarter wave formulation's objective function was taken as THD minimization function which is solved using Genetic Algorithm." @default.
