- W4387677390 abstract "Wavelength division multiplexing(WDM) allows optical fiber communication systems to provide data rates and bandwidth in the few terahertz regions. In a WDM- based optical network, wavelength assignment algorithms are employed to create light paths from the source to the destination node in order to effectively utilize and distribute the available wavelength spectrum while minimizing interference from neighbouring channels. Four-wave mixing in WDM systems can have a significant impact on an optical link's ability to transmit data. The problem of four-wave mixing (FWM) has become the principle focus for communication in designing a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system which is generated due to the optical nonlinear effect of fiber in multichannel systems. By adopting unequal channel spacing in a WDM system, FWM can be decreased. One of the key factors in optical communication is fiber capacity. The reduction of FWM and an increase in fiber capacity are the main aim of this study. Equal and unequal channel spacing was used to design the FWM effect on eight and sixteen channel wavelength division multiplexing, and the system's performance was assessed using BER and Q-factor." @default.
