EnglishIn this study, we test the MBI-GS in university students and identify: a) If the connections observed among the three dimensions of the burnout in professional group are preserved in a preprofessional group; b) The relationships between burnout and engagement to see if they work as opposite hypothetical concepts''. We also focus on analyzing up to what degree both concepts are important to explain the success, the profesional maturity and the dropout rate among university students. The study is carried out on a sample of 492 students of the University of La Rioja: 215 BBA students (LADE) and 277 Diploma Graduate in Business (DCE). Among the findings of this study note that: a) The connections between the dimensions of the burnout observed for the professional groups are the same for the group of students analyzed. b) There is no conclusive empirical evidence in favour of the hypothesis that the burnout and the engagement are conflicting concepts whose scales are negatively correlated. c) The two main prediction variables of the tendency toward abandonment are the year the student is in and the level of cynicism shown." @default.
