- W46062340 abstract "This chapter discusses some aspects of the three nucleon problem. The problem of three-body forces can be approached only from the three-body system. The three-body problem can be solved; therefore, one can test the validity of many approximations and models. These models can sometimes be extended into a domain of many nucleon systems. The studies of various N–N interaction terms and forms have been initiated. The purpose is to find those observables and kinematical domain with the largest sensitivity to a specific term of nuclear interaction. The problem to understand the sensitivity of various three body observables to the N–N interaction has been approached in three ways. First is the exact treatment, and second is the formulation of a model and conclusion from the model as to how to proceed to improve the exact calculation. The third approach is to search experimentally for regions of maximum discrepancy between the data and some simple model such as an S-wave separable model and then to guide the theory to investigate the most plausible missing terms of the N–N interaction." @default.
