- W4689783 abstract "This chapter analyzes Fusarium diseases of wheat and triticale in some regions of Eastern Europe. Weather has been found especialy important for infection of cereals by particular species of Fusarium at the same ecological conditions. During seasons of abundant rainfalls with high moisture of soil Fusarium nivale dominates, damaging seedlings of wheat and triticale. However, at seasons with lower humidity the same role in seedling infection play Fusarium culmorum and Fusarium avenaceum. Both mentioned species significantly dominate above others as pathogens damaging roots and stems base during later stages of plants growth. Fungi of Fusarium genus are mainly pathogens of seedlings, because of high susceptibility of young cereal tissues to infection. At seedling stage of plants development, the highest damage in fields of wheat and triticale usually are observed. They also colonize cereals during last stages of vegetation, when old, dying tissues are also susceptible and young ones at seedling stage." @default.
