- W47439151 abstract "[Education and Gender: Two Axes of Citizenship]. This article exposes the importance of analyzing the concept of gender and the role that several socio-educative actors have in Citizenship Education. In order to address how, why, when and who educates, we take as reference some key ideas to explain what we are going to deal with when talking about stereotypes, identity, gender, and gender role. Perceiving how the school-society dialectic gender is formed, leads us to take into account the historical, cultural and political factors. We highlight here the transnational politics of education, equality and especially education for equality, as valid tools to produce social changes aimed to the improvement of citizenship. The link between the school as a transmitting institution of social, desirable and necessary contents, and both explicit and implicit values, is presented as an introductory unit regarding the idea that the education is also conformed by a productive, reproductive, and transformative social practice of the social subject. Thereby, the relations which are produced within the family, give us some clues regarding the individual and collective construction of a transversal gender concept." @default.
