- W50336502 abstract "Objective: to observe the effect of 12 weeks of moderate to vigorous intensity exercise, 3 days per week, 40 minutes per day on body mass index (BMI) and cardiovascular fitness of obese adolescents Method: seventy eight students diagnosed as obesity , 22 subjects assigned to a 12 weeks moderate to vigorous exercise programme three times a week, 40 minutes per session and have a nutritional education. Nutritional status (BMI) and cardiorespiratory fitness (multistage fitness shuttle run test) variables were measured before and after the programme. The data were analysed by paired t test, and the confounding factor analysed by multiple linier regression. Result: From 22 observed subjects, 20 subjects finished the programme. The analysis showed that the physical fitness improved (p=0.004) and BMI decreased (p=0.02) significantly before and after intervention. Food intake as a confounding factor was found as a predictor which decreased the BMI (0,74 kcal/day; p=0,00) better than exercise (0,38 kkal/week; p=0,176) Conclusion: School exercise of 12 weeks moderate to vigorous exercise programme three times a week and 40 minutes per session with diet education is effective to improve the cardiovascular fitness and reduce the BMI in obese adolescentTujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh olahraga intensitas sedang sampai vigorous dengan frekuensi 3 kali seminggu dan durasi 40 menit/sesi selama 12 minggu terhadap indeks masa tubuh (IMT) dan tingkat kesegaran kardiorespirasi pada remaja obesitas. Metodologi: tujupuluh delapan siswa yang memenuhi kriteria obese, 22 subyek memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Intervensi berupa olahraga sedang sampai vigorous 3 kali seminggu @40 menit selama 12 minggu dan edukasi dietetik. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara concecutive sampling. Pengukuran IMT dan tingkat kesegaran kardiorespirasi (multistage fitness shuttle run test) dilakukan pada awal dan akhir program. Analisis data dilakukan dengan t tes berpasangan, sedangkan faktor perancu dianalisa dengan multiple regresi linier. Hasil: Pada 22 sampel yang diteliti, 20 sampel dapat mengikuti sampai akhir program. Didapatkan peningkatan tingkat kesegaran kardiorespirasi berdasarkan nilai VO2maks (p.0,029) dan penurunan IMT (p.0,02) secara bermakna antara sebelum dan setelah intervensi. Faktor perancu berupa penurunan asupan kalori merupakan prediktor yang lebih berpengaruh terhadap penurunan IMT (0,740 kkal/hari; p 0,00) bila dibandingkan intervensi olahraga (0,238 kkal/minggu; p 0,176). Simpulan: Olahraga sedang sampai vigorous 3 kali seminggu @40 menit selama 12 minggu dengan edukasi dietetik berpengaruh terhadap tingkat kesegaran kardiorespirasi dan IMT pada anak obesitas." @default.
