- W50362685 abstract "At a time when the United States is facing increased crime and vio lence by juveniles and adults who have abandoned their parents or are the products of broken homes, one must ask: What are we doing to save the family? The sad answer is very little, if anything at all. Despite all of this, there is a rapidly growing movement towards so-called divorce which removes the fault or blame con cept from the divorce proceedings and permits a quick and easy dissolution of a marriage, even of many years duration and against the will of one of the parties, on the mere allegation that the mar riage is irretrievably broken. Those who support this approach claim that it will remove the hostility in divorce actions. This view, I submit, is totally unrealis tic. Such hostility is not engendered by the fact that one of the spouses accuses the other of excessive drinking, association with someone of the opposite sex, physical violence or mental crulty. Hostility derives from the fact that one of these conditions does exist in the home; hostility arises because one of the parties does not want a divorce, and yet those who support no-fault divorce propose that the dissolution of marriage be made even easier and quicker or just on demand." @default.
