- W50512098 abstract "A great amount of todays drivers’ are constantly exceeding the speedlimits on the roads. As a consequense of this, a large number ofspeed redusing devises, for example speed bumps, has been builtaround the country. As reports in local medias point out, the acceptance for these typesof speed reducing devises, differs and there are many thoughts aboutlocation, construction and effect on the traffic safety. This paper approaches the complexity of these problems from thedrivers’ point of view, based on literature studies and aquestionnaire. The goal is not to argue for or against speed reducingdevises, but to try to find the source of annoyment and how toproceed further. Some of the problems turned out to be easy to fix, for example porlymarked speed bumps. Other problems are more complecated needingbigger efforts to solve. At the end, this paper shows examples of real situations that drivers’found to be irritating or annoying. It also contains propositions forsolutions and alternatives. traffic safety. This paper approaches the complexity of these problems from thedrivers’ point of view, based on literature studies and aquestionnaire.
