- W51189862 abstract "This research focuses on the influence of different coating parameters including: the pigment type, the binder level, the solids content of the coating, and the drying temperature on the peel strength in blister packaging. A method with both subjective and objective analyses was developed to evaluate the impact of different coating parameters on peel strength, mainly in terms of peel stripping. By maximising the solids content of the formulation, the peel strength decreased at higher binder levels, while it was increased at lower binder levels. In addition, clear differences relating to the type of pigments were detected, and the combination of 100 parts calcium carbonate with low solids was found to produce the best results overall. Drying temperature also had an influence on the coating structure and, therefore, the peel strength. Above all, the optimum coating formulation to give maximum peel strength was 100 parts calcium carbonate, 14 parts latex, 62% solids content and 110 degreesC drying temperature." @default.
