Sn grows layer by layer in the ensuremath{alpha} phase on CdTe(100). The ensuremath{alpha}-Sn/CdTe(100) interface is abrupt and nonreactive. We observe neither outdiffusion nor segregation of Cd in the ensuremath{alpha}-Sn layer. A Schottky barrier of ${V}_{mathrm{SB}=0.55}$ eV develops after the adsorption of (1/4 monolayer of ensuremath{alpha}-Sn on p-type CdTe(100)." @default.
