- W52725423 abstract "Background: This study examines the usability of the instrument ‘Vragenlijst en toepassing SMART-criteria’ and the problems employees encounter in the proces to formulate goals according to SMART-criteria. To what extent is this process influenced by readiness for change and job stress. Method: Data was provided by 49 employees of Stichting Flexus in Rotterdam. These employees are operative at ambulatory or residential care. Results: Employees report the instrument as useful and supportive. The employees spend less time after the instrument had been used and experienced lesser problems with formulating goals according to SMART-criteria. The usability of the instrument is higher scored by employees with a higher extent of readiness for change. The employees’ readiness for change was average to high. There were no differences found for gender or previous involvement in goal realisation. Employees with more work experience were to a lesser extent prepared for change. Job stress in employees was less then average. No differences were found for gender and level of education. Employees with a higher extent of job stress reported more problems with formulating goals according to SMART-criteria and evaluated the instrument as more supportive. Job stress and readiness for change were not related. Conclusion: The instrument is useful, supportive and effective. The employees are ready for change. Personal involvement of experts is wishful to stimulate and maintain readiness. Job stress in these employees is less then average. Discussion: The implications of our findings regarding the instrument, readiness for change and job stress were discussed." @default.
