The important components of the thermal environment are air temperature, radiant heat, humidity, and air movement or wind. The effects of clothing on human heat exchange are extremely complicated. Clothing impairs the loss of heat to the environment. The effect of clothing on heat loss by convection and radiation is to decrease conductance between the skin surface and the surrounding air." @default.
