EnglishThe present work reviews the theoretical concepts of the two major orientations of law, iusnaturalism and positivism, focusing in the latter on legal realism, which demon-strates how law, as regulator of social be-havior, should be based on the knowledge of the laws that explain social interaction, and therefore, on the discipline centered on this type of work, Legal Psychology. But Legal Positivism, being based on the idea that laws emanate from the power of the people, represented in parliaments, and reducing the role of judges to applicators laws, makes it necessary to explain the system itself justice and the legal, from a psychological standpoint, it must rely on knowledge that constitute the thematic agenda of Social Psychology and Political Psychology. In the current formulation of the rule of law as derived from the political participation of citizens, we propose a defi-nition of Legal Psychology as a science explaining the law, closely linked to politi-cal psychology." @default.
