- W561801890 abstract "Research reported in this paper is part of a large research programme initiated and sponsored by the Australian Road Research Board in a number of the Australian states. The overall objective of this programme was to either verify or modify current Australian approach to the determination of the prestress losses due to creep and shrinkage of Australian concretes. Research in Queensland dealt with the aggregates and cement typical of the south eastern part of the state. At this stage of the research project, the following conclusions have been reached: (a) shrinkage of specimens in controlled conditions of exposure is in reasonable agreement with NAASRA recommendations. (B) shrinkage of specimens in ambient conditions is significantly less and conforms to ceb-fip recommendations, not to NAASRA provisions. (C) reinforcement restrains shrinkage. NAASRA Coefficients are acceptable for larger, but not smaller specimens. (D) creep factor value phi and values of coefficient kc to Australian standards produce better agreement with the test evidence than either NAASRA or ceb5fip assumptions. (E) values of the age of loading coefficient kd should be reduced. Further research is required to ascertain the magnitude of the reduction. (F) size effect on ultimate values of creep and shrinkage of concrete does not appear to be significant. Further work is needed to ascertain realistic values of coefficient ke." @default.
