- W568986228 abstract "This study focuses on the prediction of effluentremoval through Sequence Batch Reactor (SBR) inSeptic Sludge Treatment Plant (SSTP) located inSarawak. The SBR is a fill-and-draw activated sludgesystem for wastewater treatment plant. The currentsystem practiced has successfully produced a highefficiency of effluent removal, namely Chemical OxygenDemand (COD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS).However, a direct cause-effect relationship towastewater treatment performance is rarely established.Conversely, experimental results could lead tocontradictory conclusions. Therefore, this hinders theformulation of deterministic cause-effect relationshipthat could be used as prediction model. In this study,Artificial Immune System (AIS) technique named ClonalSelection Algorithm (CSA) is introduced in thedevelopment of a prediction model to forecast theperformance of the SSTP. In order to attain thisobjective, the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), MeanAbsolute Percentage Error (MAPE) and CorrectionCoefficient (R) are used as performance indexes. Themain outcome is to achieve a satisfactory prediction ofeffluent removal as in accordance to “TheEnvironmental Quality Act 1974, Environmental Quality(Sewage) Regulation 2009: Standard A” for effluentdischarge. Results of this study, exhibits a smallpercentage of predicted effluent error successfullymodeled. Thus, the pattern recognition of effluentobtained from using CSA has shown a successful novelpredictive model that could be used as an engineeringtool for environmental planning," @default.
