- W578388575 abstract "Vibration absorbers appear in a wide range of uses including, but not limited to, architecture: smoke stacks, windmills, bridges, and cellular towers; consumer goods: refrigerators, seating in vehicles, and dishwashers; and in rotational equipment: pumps, generators, and engines [1, 8-10]. However, the application to the field of robotics, automated manufacturing, and known trajectories has been limited. Pick-and-place processes are commonplace in manufacturing. A method has been devised for increasing the precision of these tasks using dynamic vibration absorbers to attenuate the dynamics induced by the step-like disturbances coming from the point-to-point reference commands. These novel absorbers are then combined with an intelligent choice of cycle time to produce enhanced performance of lightly damped manufacturing machines. The aforementioned examples are usually designed to eliminate periodic, sinusoidal, or random vibrations. The random vibration absorber has been studied but its solution is only analytically definable for non-real world application, i.e. true white noise [11, 12]. Time optimal absorbers have also been designed but the definition of time optimal does not necessarily coincide with the best absorber for a robotic application [13]. The approach to the absorber solution has also varied widely. Autoparametric study, graph models, system stability, various control techniques, as well as shear numerical testing has been attempted [14-16]." @default.
