- W581471617 abstract "A linear analysis based on a semi-actuator disk method is carried out to investigate the effects of flow compressibility due to 2-phase flow on rotating cavitation. It is assumed that no slip and no phase change occur between gas and liquid phases, and that the flow field is isothermal because of the large thermal capacity and conductivity of the liquid phase. The results show that there are many solutions of characteristic equation, corresponding to conventional forward and backward rotating cavitations, rotating stall, solution with no disturbances, natural vibrations of 1-D cascade flow resonant with the upstream and downstream flow fields, and a forward rotating mode different from conventional forward rotating cavitation. It is also shown that the stable regions of conventional rotating cavitations become slightly larger due to the flow compressibility." @default.
