- W583914503 abstract "This paper discusses the methods of estimating the effect of blast shock vibration on the health of a human body. At present, in the design of shock isolation systems some prescribed acceleration values have been generally used for human shock tolerance or vibration tolerance. However, experimental results indicate that the human tolerance is directly related with the peak value of acceleration, the duration of shock or vibration and the dynamic characteristics of the human body. The correlativity of human tolerance with shock or vibration duration reveals that human tolerance of health has a time accumulation effect. So the shock tolerance and vibration tolerance of hthe uman body under a blast environment can be unified on the basis of the principle of accumulated damage. In this paper, the VDV method has been introduced into the blast environment to unify the human tolerances of shock and vibration, to study the effect of blast shock and vibration on health, and to analyze the safe values of shock vibration accelerations to human health. According to the analysis in the paper, VDV = 25 m.s(-1.75) is an appropriate value for evaluating human health in the blast shock and vibration environment." @default.
